Ensuring Reliable Communication for Protection Systems in Critically Short Timeframes

Teleprotection is primarily used in energy networks where there is a need to ensure highly reliable transmission of individual messages and commands within the transmission system. In the TTC MARCONI portfolio, teleprotection is represented by our own OX family products, which allow for the flexible assembly of various interfaces and transmission protocols into a single universal device. TTC MARCONI products are integrated under our own TopoNet supervision system.

Our solution transmits distance protection commands and differential protection signals over optical fiber, packet, and TDM networks. All signal processing is natively in packet form, followed by line transmission via 1GbE / 10GbE Ethernet interfaces for transmission over IP networks, including MPLS. This offers the advantage of easy integration into packet-based transmission networks and shorter transmission times compared to TDM networks. The system features two independent power modules, a front-panel display, support for cybersecurity functions, and IEC 61850 standards.
